[Research Project] UCD Blackboard

Myself, Hamsa Ranjan and Varsha Raghav have decided to take up the UCD Blackboard system as our research project, to study the system and add features to improvise the existing design of the system.

The current Blackboard system has the features where a faculty updates the slides/ reading articles/ grades/ assignment links, for each module.

There are also discussion threads for the class, within each module.

But we did come agree on the point where Blackboard seems to be lacking. And our Research project is based on coming up with the design for implementing the new feature which will increase the uses of the Blackboard.

Here we present the video where we talk about our investigation into the Blackboard and the solutions we propose.

We would like to propose a more interactive, or more like a two-way interaction system, where the student has an individual notes system in each of the respective module. Also the system links to a shared space for the students, where they work on assignments as a group. Another possible addition, whose feasibility we are yet discussing, is a drag and drop feature for documents/ images/ files onto the Blackboard. We will keep updated on further progress with the research over the next few weeks.
